Valentine Crispy Rice Treats Recipe

I don’t know many people who do not like Crispy Rice Treats. They are crispy, chewy and sweet. So what’s not to love? They are so easy to make too. You can whip up a batch in just a few minutes. Let me show you my Valentine Crispy Rice Treats twist.

Ingredients
- 8 cups mini marshmallows
- 5 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon gel food coloring (or use liquid and just keep adding until you get to your desired shade)
- 9 cups crispy rice cereal (e.g., Rice Krispies or generic )

Directions
Step 1 | Spray a 9x13 pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. Place your crispy rice cereal in a large bowl. | |
Step 2 | Place your marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl. Then add the butter in pieces to the marshmallows and then add vanilla. Microwave in 30 second intervals; mixing after each interval, until the mixture is smooth. | |
Step 3 | Add your food coloring and stir to thoroughly combine. | |
Step 4 | Pour the marshmallow mixture in the bowl with the crispy rice cereal. | |
Step 5 | Using a large rubber scrapper or wooden spoon, fold everything to thoroughly coat the crispy rice cereal with the marshmallow mixture. | |
Step 6 | Firmly pack the mixture into a prepared 9x13 pan and allow to cool and firm up a bit. |
